Arrived at 9:30am to 10 inside and 15+ outside and lots of flat water. Rigged up the 5.2m Flyer as it still looked light inside and I had the big board so could deal with being overpowered. First hour was great with waves building and lots of tide on the outside with super flat sections. Bit O Seaweed in the water but cut it all except once when I came in too close and hit a big clump right after my gybe. Came in and rigged down to the 4.5m Flyer after 40 mins and it was 20+ and the swell was building. The 4.5m is basically brand new, been used twice by another Dood so brand new for me and it was fantastic, rigs quite flat with downhaul and leaving the outhaul at 0 keeps the power when needed. It felt a bit small with that board but with 20+ knots it was easy to get on the foil right away. MarkA came out and did a huge jump right in front of me which looked pretty sweet! His board came out maybe 6ft out of the water, pretty impressive. Came in after 45kms and there were lots of Wings coming out of the woodwork. Bougie and the young guns sitting in the back of their trucks on lawn chairs waiting for more wind and swell. HA!! Kids?!?!?!? I derigged the 5.2m and decided to go out and finish my 50kms after chatting with RobDS. So, went out again in the building swell for a few more runs and played it pretty safe as staying dry for the day is a nice trick! When I was done the wind was 25+ on the outside and the swell was, for me, HUGE!! So I called it a day and went over and said Hi to BW and The Twizz and as I was leaving, Mr. Keen came and took my primetime parking spot. Nice, as Goat Hill was filling up.
