Thought i was on it early (4pm) as I spied it ramping up on the cams, drive down only to find I had left my foil tools at home and there's no one else there yet! Went home, came back and it was way better than advertised, 4m weather, nice looking waves forming, only 1 winger out (Tugboat??). It really came in with a push of nice swell from 2/3 to mid-bay down to St.Charles corner. Lots of debris and kelp up near the point and not as nice wave formation. Eventually, the usual suspects (Tweezer, Windoc, RupDog) showed. Ended up smacking a nasty semi-sub 8" log on an upwind reach into the blinding glare skirting the evil kelp bed line. That stopped me short, no damage upon inspection, but could not get going again as the wind simultaneously dropped, so now I'm upwind of the launch surrounded by the evil kelp with masses on my gear and they're all calling to their buddies to come and help drag me down to visit davey jones! I now have to do the foil flip board paddle (which i hate for many reasons) back the beach. Hung around for a bit, more of the RBFC showing up and it looks like it may fill in again, not for me I call it a day.
Looking forward to a warm water, kelp free sessions at the Nat this weekend!! Woohoo!!
