Raced to CP after work to enjoy my 1st session of the year. As I drove up, Kite-foiler out but by the time I rigged up and went out they were gone. Decided not to rig to small this year so rigged a flatter 6.0m and it was the right call as it was 10-15kts most of my session. There were quite a few holes and lots of gustiness but I'm definitely not complaining, just enjoying the crap wind until summertime thermals. The sea state was quite wavey with some bigger swells coming in as well which made for tough gybing. I got becalmed once for about a 2-minutes but well powered for most of the session. I had to call it quits at 4pm as it was getting too dark to see the sticks in the water after crashing into one and just about falling in. YIKES!!! After coming in, had a nice parking lot chitty-chat with DOG. Not super happy about the forecast of the temp getting colder but I guess we've had it pretty good so far, so bring on the snow.
