With crazy cold tomorrow, decided to cut work early and get some today. Met HighRocker at CP and both decided to brave the conditions. It was 0 degrees and blowing 13-18kts as we were rigging. By the time I got on the water it was blowing 20+kts. I had the 4.5m flattened but was still over powered in the gusts. Water surface was fairly flat when I started but the waves were building as we continued and there was some swell coming in from 10 Mile Pt area. The conditions were pretty cray-cray so stayed fairly close to shore and enjoyed watching the Drunken Monkey foiling. I'm glad I got out the 1st session was 40 minutes and then came in to warm up hands. I used dish gloves with palmless overtop which didn't work great. My hands got very cold so came in to warm them up and put on the super warm full mitts which worked great!! Hands were toasty, even after hitting a chunk of wood and going over the handlebars. Pulled the plug and the worst part was derigging with 20-25kts and blowing snow. I guess I'm not as tough as I thought I was. HA!! Maybe some more tomorrow..?? I'll bring some warm water.
