Arrived to RBL out ripping, Gus pulling the plug and no beach to speak of. Launched at boat ramp and immediately started catching some really fun bombs! Noticed my wing was not behaving properly and discovered strut was leaking fast. Bolted in and then proceeded to get absolutely worked in the shore break, leashes dragging me around like a Shih Tzu into the 5' impact zone repeatedly. Wrestled the bear for a couple more minutes then managed to get my gear back into deeper water. Paddled upwind/against current 20' into my only hope for not getting pummelled again. Juuuuuuuust made it, heart rate maxed. Repumped strut, back out into more fun ones and F#$*! Strut leaking again! Packed it in. Tunacan launched as I was leaving and looked to be having more fun than me. At least 6 or 7 good waves ridden, but not really my day! I figure I was due for some humble pie at Clover. Tide STILL rising!!
