NAILED IT!! Finally hit the wind timing. Looked at the IV webcam and thought I saw a whitecap so jumped in my MANVAN and headed to IV. Arrived to 12-15kts and some tidal produced waves. Super wave confusion on the way across flat on the inside and flat off South End James Island in the middle was cray-cray wavyness. Solid wind though so that was great. After giving an OSR to both groups I started foiling right off the beach and went across to other side of James Island then was able to head almost straight up to the campground point. Was able to get some good speed in the flatwater off the end of James Island. I pulled the plug a bit early as there was still 10-12kts when I called it after only 42 minutes but having gone over 20kms it seemed okay as I didn't want the wind to die any more and have to schlog. I did fall on a gybe and thought I looked just like a Winger running down and jumping off the front of the board. Had a little giggle about that. I'm not a big fan of getting wet but having a laugh about it helped. My hands were quite cold when I finished even though I had on the palmless mitts, I'm guessing because they got wet. ugh!! Pretty great to be able to get an afterwork session and it still be light although I did skip out at 3pm. Looking forward to more daylight. YES!!
BOBSON OUT!!
