Wing Pretending. Arrived early to Twizz and RBLocal out Foiling off the point with Windoc rigging his bright orange (this colour Wing has me written all over it) 5.0m Wing and DW pencil board. I went with the 5.2m as it looked like 12-17kts. Got out and played in the waves. Since I'm going to start Winging I thought I'd pretend today and try foiling down some waves and stand on top of the board more trying to 'Do the Drunken Monkey'. It was quite fun weaving in and out and not hiked out over the side going Mach 1. All the OG showed up and were out on it .... and, oh ya GUStastic too. Had to come in a few times to warm the hands and once to rig down as it had picked up to 20+ so rigged up the 4.5m which felt perfect. After about an hour it started to flatten out so I did a few speed runs on the inside but with the 1100cm2 front foil I couldn't hit top speeds. The wind started to die off so I pulled the plug at just the right time able to foil right in to 50ft from the beach. NICE!! Oh, ya... I also got a Wing today. A 6.2m Ensis so I'm close to be able to go 'Winging'. I just need a leash and I should be good. I'm going to start out using my big 150 litre board to try and ensure I spend more time on the board instead of in the water. I'm pretty excited, might be even more excited when it warms up, even just a little bit maybe 10-12 degrees please..?? Okay, pretty great Saturday morning even with the cool weather. 4-cast says SE Sunday morning so hope to see you all out there. Might be time for some safe Wing practice...??
