Took 2 tries - first time paddled through the surf, but by then the wind completely- of course took a while for me to admit defeat, so by the time I did i was 200m down the beach - ie walk of shame.
By the time I got back to the truck, wind had rebuilt, so back out to play in the waves.
Wasn't all fun and games though- it's herring season up here, which means dozens of large, fat sea lions; and while they are typically docile ( we snorkel/dive with them) i didn't want to find out how they would react to a sharp foil to the head! Made me a bit nervous to say the least!
