1st DW attempt at RB. Paddled in the lee of Clover and into the small wind swell. Surprisingly was able to stand up without too much trouble and 1st 3 attempts paddling up got onto foil but the 1675 is squirrelly AF until it reaches proper cruising speed, so it spat me off repeatedly before I could connect with the next wave. The foil is also a bit loose so it was wobbly and led to control issues. Should have taken the time to put the bigger, liftier tail on too. Hard work but absolutely doable. All the surf foiling has really helped my balance. Not stoked to get any proper runs in but but the seal has been cracked at least for down winding. Knowing I can paddle up in small conditions gives me a little confidence boost. Can't wait to try the Gorge; should be epic.
