An absolutely fabulous day on the water. Met j_dog and found some space to setup between the stunt kite guys. It was lulling as I launched and went down the ramp. There was a large chunk of a big octopus at the bottom of the ramp which I decided not to take as a bad omen and headed out onto the reef as it was full low tide. My first attempt to get going did not work as the wind was lulling and I was deep in the bay, I came ashore and walked up the beach a couple hundred meters, dragged out a ways, tried again and that worked well. Lots of wind a little further off the beach and I was off for what turned out to be a beauty of a session. I charged hard upwind trying to keep up with j_dog and his new hi-perf foil. I got up towards Finlayson Point and found some nice flat water to try my luck at tack turns; I tried many but did not have much luck today. When not trying to tack, I gybed to toe-side and went hunting for swell faces. I found a few but they were not very well formed. I still had fun with what was on offer and got a full one and a half hours on the water until my legs started to get tired, so I came in. Really busy on the Clover green but it all was festive and good.
