Stopped by at 1pm enroute China Crk expecting to Long Board but wind was fresh at the beach so went with 8.2 & Floatie Roberts 27". This unforecast breath of warm summer breeze was best between beach and the light rock and held till 4pm. Easy planing downwind to Stephenson point but it took 6 tacks to get back as the outside wind was only 12 gusting 15.
Socialized with patents of 5 time Nanaimo Bathtub Champion Nathan and then went out for happy hour sail at 5:30pm and met the Harbour Master (Scarlet) rowing by who came to inform me the tide was ebbing contrary to my trained tide tech eye and I should hug the shore. Re-entry was by way of the lagoon mouth but the depth could not handle my 60cm draft so I walked across to the spit and relaunched on the other side.
