Dave C. and I decided to give IV a go and we were not disappointed. The wind was above forecast and very punchy. Large shore break, but I have seen worse there. There were about 6 other kiters out too. I don't know why they don't post logs here. (Adrian, being the exception ;-). I got 4 good runs down the shoreline with one spectacular shoulder-high wave on one run. That was the biggest wave I have ever caught and it pushed me so hard that I felt the acceleration from the wave pressure and the kite lines were slacking and the kite was fully drifting. What a feeling! Gladly the rollers were setting up and becoming ridable fairly far away from shore so that gave me some margin for error. I would have pushed myself harder in the swell waves had the wind been a bit more behaved, but given how punchy it was I decided to be more cautious. Lots of stoke at the beach afterwards and Dave and I went for a pint afterwards. A fantastic, rainy, cold winter kiting day.
