Arrived early to no one on Goat Hill at 10am and 10-13kts from SW. There were some good gusts so rigged a fat 4.5m and headed through the floating log jam at the shoreline. SAJohn headed out on his 6.0m just before me and was foiling right away. I got out and it took a couple mins to get a gust but then it was good except for all the junk in the water. Not really relaxing foiling as every 30 seconds I'd hit something. Crashed a couple times after hitting bigger stix. More Doods showed up and more wind came. I put in 30 mins trying out the PFI730 (1456cm2) low aspect Foil. I didn't like it. It needed to be going quicker than my PTM926 (1263cm2) but was turnier and didn't glide as well going through jibes. I'll still need to try it in flatter water so see how it behaves but I prefer the higher aspect Foil as that's what I'm used to. I foiled another 20 mins on the PTM926 then the wind really picked up to 25+ so I came in for some hot tea (quite warm today with no need for gloves) and chat with all the Doods now parked on Goat Hill. Nice to see another Windfoiler out today (Mr. Keen) who was really killing it!! I flattened out the 4.5m but that didn't help so did another 15 mins and then called it a day as it was 30kts and getting really wavy. Too much wind for me.
