    Following John's service (beautiful and fitting), a number of us paddled out at Kook St. to say our final farewell as the wind picked up. A few of us managed to get out on kites following the paddle-out ceremony. I'm not sure this day could have been better dedicated to John's memory. I felt honored to be part of this community today. You'll be missed, John.
