Tried kiting for the first time this year on Tom's 14m. Heart pumping, dry mouthed and fairly nervous, I launched with the help of Tom and Grant. I managed to get up after a few fumbles with grabbing the board while flying the kite. Just when I stated to think; "Hey I'm up!", I started to pick up speed and tried to edge the board a bit harder to slow down (not the best course of action). The kite was getting low to the water and was accelerating to warp speed with me in tow. Just as I squatted low to prepare for a beating, 2 lines snapped. Mr. Toad's wild ride was over for the day. Thank you Cheesus! Grant thankfully towed the seperated kite back in to the beach for me and I had a short swim in. Wild sport. Mucho respect for all y'all kiters. I'll BE BACK.
Windboarding was fun today but was a bit mellow after the earlier kite friskiness.
