Sitting on Big Beach I see this wind line approaching with windcaps in tote... 30 minutes later the beach clears and my smile is full of sand... another 30 minutes passes, head to the hotel, iwindsurf says 22 knts gust 26, and I decide, Yes, I will drive all the way back to Kahuli, pick up gear, and then come almost all the way back. Near death traffic weaving ensues... then....
30 mins sort of powered up, not ideal, but I'll take it! Then messed around for an hour or so after in the gusts. Love the feel of the smaller Kombat. First (non planing of course) dry gybes on a short board, I'll take those too... not bad for a bad day! Mixed feelers about the freak.
