Okay Bobson - So you think you sail big gear...
Went out for an after-dinner sesh on our buddy Garry's Catalina 42, with well over 100 m2 of sail area last night. Squirrelly, gusty offshore conditions coming out of oak bay, with a ton of current. Did Downwinder to 10 mile point an then ripped upwind to trial island at 8.9kts. After a couple of mega gusts that had us heeling over till the sails were dragging in the water and stuff flying across the cabin we put a reef in the main and the boat trimmed out better till we pulled back into the marina in the dark. Way more complicated gear than windsurfing, but fun none the less.
