started the day not so rested as our daughter had a cold which kept us up the night before. My friend, Graham, and I drove to Hi-Tech to check out rental gear. The gear looked excellent, so we decided to rent from them. The forecast was for 10-20, so I grabbed a '05 quattro 85L freestyle board, Graham, a RRD freestyle wave 90. We both got ezzy wave 4.7s and 5.5s, skinnies, pryde booms. Off to Kanaha. Wind was solid 4.7 and somewhat gusty near the shore. Graham was having some trouble getting off the beach as he hadn't sailed in a few years. I worked on old school tricks like helis, 360s. Not much hate today. didn't really like the quatro freestyle, a bit of a dog - not turny at all. I tried Grahams RRD - much better. A good start to the trip
