Nitinat Long Weekend Carpool

Looking for a ride from Vic to Nat this weekend.
I'll split the gas, and supply the driver's beer (I'm a brewer at Van Island).
I pack very light (one kite, one board, no cooler).
I'm fairly quiet, don't smell bad, and am somewhat mentally stable

Nitinat Carpool

Anyone going to Nitinat from Victoria this weekend?

I pack light, will split the gas, and supply beer for the weekend (I'm a brewer at Van Island Brewery).

Thanks,
~Chris

The search for one-pump ("octopus") hoses

Has anyone had to replace one-pump hoses lately?

If so, where'd you find 'em?!

Airtime and Windance both have them on backorder, with no idea when they'll be in.

Philippe from Airtime told me to look for latex catheter tubing.:?

Rise 'one pump' advice

I just picked up my first kite; a lightly used 08 rise, which didn't come with 'one pump' hoses, just plugs where the hoses would go.

Can I (safely) use it as is, or do I need to buy a one pump kit?

Harness Advice

Just had a 2-day lesson at 'Nat, and am shopping for my first set of gear.

I learned with a seat harness, but everyone I see uses a waist. As a noob, what should I be looking for?

If anyone's looking to sell, I need something for a 28-30" waist.

So, for the record, Teabag says I can probably catch a ride with him, but if someone gives me a definite yes, to go with them.

Offer's still on the table...

Free Beer (seriously)

Hey Folks,

Here's the deal:

Four 12-packs of your favourite Van Island Brewery beer, for a lift from Victoria to Nitinaht and back this weekend (june 13/14).

Hoping to leave Fri. afternoon/evening, and back by Sun. evening.

I'm 100% noob, going up there for a 2-day lesson.

Thanks,
-Chris

Revolution Kiteboarding school?

Looking for a good local kiteboarding school.

I hear so much about Storm and Elevation, but what about Revolution?

Anyone learned from them and want to comment?

What is you level anyway? Can you get on the board more than 3-4 seconds? If so and your next step is to learn to go upwind, I have a board to lend you (My knee is crap for at least 3 more weeks anyway). Can't wait to see the smile on your face after seeing you not being able to get back downwind ...
