Don`t sweat it. Last November flew WestJet to HNL from Victoria and checked suitcase and "golf" kite bag. Got charged for first bag and extra bag charge. No oversize charge. On way home same two checked bags and NO COST at all, which was not expected but think I got a "trainee" o...

To put it bluntly, your lack of experience is not suited to most winter kiting conditions experienced in the Greater Victoria area. You should probably not kite alone either. Go to Island View Beach next time there is a PSE (pissing south-easterly) to watch and learn. If you must kite, best bet is I...

In September, better chance for westerlies in Victoria than Gordons Beach particularly on days where there is a cold frontal passage and clearing skies. Don`t be enticed by forecast 15 knot winds at Gordons this time of year, because the 15 knots usually only happens at Sheringham Point and not the ...

This from someone who has lived in Tofino and surfed there for over 40 years. Government / Parks INACTION is legendary. You have got to realize this is a "guberment wotka" project. The worst part is that the project is costing over 3 million, for a few shitters. The surf contest is schedul...

If not done already, I would post a LOST message to Denman and Hornby community Facebook pages. Not everyone knows about the BWD community.

Don`t know if a lot of those planned events actually happened in 1989.
But anyway, belated apologies for not making the Wave Social Event on May 20-22, 1989. Had to go to Alaska for four months to work on Shoreline Cleanup Assessment for the Exxon Valdez oil spill.

Probably too windy today for a starter kite - assume you mean a 4m trainer kite. Clover Point on a 5-10 knot west or east wind would be better.
Stay away from the high foot traffic areas off Dallas Road.

Check out the youtube video Ocean Rodeo Bladder Replacement Guide.
When you remove the zap straps off the strut valves just twist off with a pair of pliers - better that using the scissors shown in the video.

Bright rainbow briefly appeared over Sheringham Point this morning. Maybe that's an omen. Seems like nothing happens with the FEDS unless a direct request to Justin Trudeau.

Best JDF Central Wind for June in the Last 15 years

Its official. For the month of June most windy days at Sheringham Point in 15 years of BWD archive. Total 27 days over 15 knots, 21 days over 20 knots and 10 days over 25 knots. Some days with bubble on the inside but plenty of wind outside. Also, this June probably the least number of windsurfers o...
