Re: WindFoiling - Base Plate Shims
Starboard now includes a 1.5 shim with their top plate masts. Seems to give a better angle when measuring with an electronic angler measurer.

Could leave after mid June to Oregon/Nitinat/wherever?....weather dependent? Buying a van in the next month. Coast could be the maiden voyage...and I may even sail?

Vans
Come on KC7's you're a better negotiator/savy shopper than that. We paid $40k new not $60k. Also look at a gas Ford Transit. Nicer finish, just as much room, but $13k cheaper than the diesel Transit or Sprinter. Yes I am better. Dont worry. I havent even started to really shop. I will ramp things ...

Van
Ok, weather getting warm, getting close to van buying time. Sprinters nice but spending $60,000 or more on new isn't, and a decent used one seem to be tough to find. And not sure of Sprinters for skiing trips. Was just in Maui and we had a large Ford 350 basic van. Held lots of SUPs and windsurfers ...

Promotion
Hey Joostio, I am not skinny. Or tall. Been called stocky. And stumpy. Promotion is great as they have multiple sizes by height (Tall, Regular, Short). Eg at 5'7", when I was fatter (180lbs+) I wore a LS (Large Short). Now I am in a MLS (Medium Large Short) (170lbs). ML is right between Medium and ...

gear
I should add, I wouldn't prebook. Watch the forecast then decide. Unless you are rich and money doesn't matter. This is dirt bagger advice. The last two years went like this: last year 2 weeks wind everyday starting at dawn so basically no surf or SUP. Year before that, opposite, wind on one day ...

Renting gear in Maui
I have enough points to fly return to Maui from Bellingham in March for a week (16-24?). I have never been to Maui to windsurf, was last there in '78! What is the best bet for rentals for a 7 day trip (6 sailing days)?....I need windsurf gear OR SUP...and a van? Kanaha Kai?, Maui Windsurf company ...

Been looking around. Thanks for the advice. So fun dealing with car salesman. The passenger option looks interesting?.....has AC and flooring and nice windows on both sides.....and a removable three-person bench. Which would be good for ski trips with additional people? But $60k+ for a new 2015 ...

Promaster
Thx JL! That DIY site is interesting. Just what I needed. The Ram Promaster looks interesting....$47,000 for a diesel new, $39,000 for non-diesel. I like the windows. FWD better in snow probly too. You can get a heavy duty suspension model for $0 extra. Good for Nat or Baja? Ram Promaster has 159 ...

Buying Sprinter Van and ideas for racking system
So, New here....hahaha. Anyways..... My 2007 GM crewcab has almost 350,000 km on it. Time for a new vehicle. A pickup with canopy is too small so we are thinking of buying a Sprinter van. Summer use : Plan is to travel all of July and August with a van with 2 mtn bikes, 2 SUPS, 2 surfboards, 6 ...
