Re: Fanatic 104L freewave, $250

I'll take it. Been looking for a FSW this size.

WTT: my 104L waveboard for your 105-115L FSW

~2017 RRD wavecult in B condition. I'd rather a FSW for my big board.
Would add some cash on my end if needed.

Re: Wanted kids rig 2.5 - 3.5

I have a set of the Ezzy kids rigs but I think they only go up to 2.5 and are built for really little kids.

Re: New Wing Handles

I'd be curious to see it fold up.

Also wish they had an angled front handle. It's subtle but I really think that's an important design element for comfort.

Re: Stripped footstrap insert

Weed eater line does work if it's not completely trashed.
Or else I put a toothpick in then fill with thickened epoxy (graphite powder works well).

Re: Wing vs regular windsurfing sail

His speed was in Km/h, in Kts his max speed was briefly ~6kts. That is extremely slow for that wind speed. You could be foiling going 3x that fast.
You could probably even get a regular windsurfing board planing in that much wind and go even faster.

Re: Wing vs regular windsurfing sail

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCS1q8oxGGE Great video, Highrocker! If you were able to cruise around at that brisky pace in those low low winds , at times as low as 8 km/hr, without a foil, it is beyond my wildest expectations ! Looks like the wing is more than a pool-side toy, as some have put i...

Re: Night rides with LEDs

I'm winging dry now, I'd say I prefer it.
Definitely harder to swim but that isn't really a factor winging. I feel like I'm not as heavy and more flexible which definitely are big factors.

Re: Mid Aspect foils

Depends on how you define MA. Some manufacturers call that 7-8:1, others anything above 5:1 Aspect is just one part of defining a foil. Thickness is another one that isn't as discussed but may be even more important. I'm riding a thin 5.8:1 and really like it, I'd consider it on the border between L...

Re: Who's riding out at Pat Bay in Sidney? I'm wondering on wing size for the summer?

6m will be fine in the summer unless you are quite light.

If you start thinking about riding at IV in a SEer then sizes need to get much smaller.

Re: Skateboard for winging practice

You definitely want something that can turn nice and tight, the longboard I've borrowed takes most of the clover point road width to turn.

I'd really like to try the surfskate.

A little sacrificial tape on the wing tips keeps things from getting damaged.

Re: Skateboard for winging practice

I've used a longboard and a little short one, short one was more fun unless you have a really large area and want to built up speed.
Tacks are much less scary than gybes.
