Port Alberni Launch area

Is the new Port Alberni launch area down plywood road, beginner friendly?
I can water start no problem just wondering how it is for current and boat traffic? Is a farmer john wetsuit ok or is it freezin out there? Decent parking and rigging areas?

Rigging Tool

Does anyone know where I can purchase one of those cranks to help with the downhaul? I have seen a few people with them and they look like a great way to save your back?
Thanks in advance,
WWN

Does anyone have info on Chilko Lake

I may head up to Bella Coola end of august and was wondering if anyone here has windsurfed on Chilko Lake. I recall an afternoon wind kicking up but can't remember if it was suitable for a short board.

Nimpkish Sailing

I went to Nimpkish early this year, March and the wind was up...I know its a great place to sail...are there any good places to practice water starts? The main site I was at looked rough, both with big waves and and the old rail piles....is the camp site further south better?

a beginner looking for some basic help..pointers

I just decided to start windsurfing again and am banging away on my gear and not learning too much.
Can anyone recommend any books on windsurfing or people that give lessons this time of year in the Parksville area?
