Re: Flat water foiling spots

Pat Bay on a SE (blowing offshore) can be fun. In summer it can get an afternoon 15kt SE that blows right near the airport...just watch out for float planes. In winter, the SE that are sailable at IV can be sailable at Pat Bay with micro ripples and 15+ kts.

Re: Mid Aspect foils

I used the MA1000 for the first time today. It’s a bit hard to tell since I was underpowered and I also changed to a longer fuse (60) and removed a tail shim. But compared to the HA925, it is a lot more user friendly, the take off speed seemed a bit better and it doesn’t stall as easy on takeoff. Ra...

Re: Cormorant Point in SE?

Right...yeah that's a dumb place to put cliffs. My arrow is more "East" than SE so you may be okay at the red marker. Back in the olden days we windsurfed off of Campion Road at the RV park, in between Cormorant and IV. The waves were great and the launch was fairly protected, compared to ...

Re: Cormorant Point in SE?

Do you mean where the green X is here? If so, no, but it could be a good launch. Is there beach access here?

Take some pics of the launch and let us know if you survive.

Re: Foil repair

Maybe it's a good time to chop that 1125 down. People seem to have great results by taking at least 2cm of each side and shaping it more squared off instead of pointy. I find the 1125 a bit stiff rail to rail and this would loosen it up. Give it a go and let me know how it works so I can try mine :-...

Re: GPS Tracks

Thanks to everyone that is using the GPS track feature and thanks for the feedback =D> Some notes: 1. It is still a bit buggy, especially for long tracks since it is processing a lot of data and occasionally the server times out. If you upload the track and don't get the final track results page, yo...

Re: Wing Repair - Should we always expect it?

Was on an 88L board with the HA925 foil. I think at times gusts were getting slightly above 40 kts and I turned turtle 4 times. I try to not let go of the wing when I crash and find that helps. Don't let it go and have it flailing on the end of your leash. I had lots of wing carnage when I was lear...

Re: KT Wing Air

Tried a 4m KT Wing Air today (thanks Winddoc). - Wind was 15-20kt, 2 ft chop with some small rideable swell. - 60L Armstrong FG - 1125 HA, 85cm mast, 50cm fuse, 195 tail - 145 lbs (target weight 210 lbs) What I liked: - it's very light - handles are good and I could get used to them. I fumbled a bit...

Sweet! How do the handles feel? That might be the only thing holding me back. I really like the rigid Cabrinha handles.
