Re: Where to start?

AJ's advice is very good. He might have the low/high aspect flipped though: AR = span/cord (or sometimes span^2/area) The Slingshot I76/84 are fairly low aspect (AR ~3.5) and good for low speed lift and user friendly. Same with the Starboard Super Cruiser. Higher aspect generally needs a bit more sp...

Re: Tuning/ Rigging Advice for a 5.0 Hot Sails Superfreak

Yeah that's my old 5.0 SF UltraLight version. I was using a HSM HotRod RDM 400 on it and it worked really well. It should be able to handle lots of wind. It looks pretty good from the photos to me. If you had too much DH and OH that could explain the poor handling. Hopefully Bobson's rigging help ha...

Re: Tuning/ Rigging Advice for a 5.0 Hot Sails Superfreak

As MF4 says, don't believe the numbers on the bag. I think some of the batches has misprints on them. They are a bit tough to rig, but should work I think on SDM or RDMs. They are probably less sensitive to differences in SDMs, but I think they might need a bit of a flex-top...? Not sure about the E...

Re: GPS Tracks

Question for the guys who tuck their phone in their wetsuit........ came in tonight and my iPhone had locked me out for 15 minutes due to too many incorrect PINs from the touch screen picking up my wet wetsuit. Any tips to avoid this? Not sure if this helps, but you can enable Guided Access and dis...

Re: Gordon's issues

Saturday July 10 (yesterday) was a busy day at Gordon’s and there were complaints from the neighbours about parking in front of and too close to their driveways. I know this wasn’t intentional, but PLEASE be aware of where you park and make sure it is at least 6ft away from a driveway. There are a f...

Re: GPS Tracks

Great to see people posting tracks! Sometimes the stats don't work the first time. If you don't see any stats after you upload your track file, go the the track again and hit Edit -> Save and this will redo them.

I need help: can someone who can log into bigwavedave but cannot login to the new site please PM me with your username/password? Thanks ULR.

3. Click on the number to expand...does that work?

Yeah there is no actual mobile/desktop versions and it’s based on screen size. I’ll see if there’s a way to force it to think you are on a desktop. Can you turn your phone sideways?

Hey MF4 can you email me a screen capture. I’m not sure what pages you are referring too, or post a link here.

The poll results seem a bit inconclusive at the moment.

kite foiling is there as an activity, just no logs with that selected.
windsurf
kite
windfoil
kitefoil
wing

The wind vanes do take some getting used to.

I need to look into why the site is crashing. Hoping it will be < 2 more years to resolve. Argh.
