Johnny

I'm with you Mark. Just checking in to see what's going on and see John's big grin on the home page. Brings lots of crazy memories to mind and then I saw this thread.  My jaw was agape for nearly an hour as I read through all the posts and pics. What a tragic loss. His passion for lif...

Bazan Bay??

Hi all. We recently moved up to the peninsula and I'm scoping out my new sailing venues. Bazan Bay is about 5 minutes away. Is it any good?? Is it similar to Willows on a SE?? I'm looking for alternatives to Island View if it's too big there. I've been on the water twice in the last year so I though...

RV Storage

Anyone know of a place where I can store my 16' trailer for the summer?? Somewhere close to Nitinat would be ideal but I'd settle for somewhere between here (Victoria) and there. I heard a rumour that there might be RV storage behind the store at Nitinat. Anyone have info on that??? Thanks. Rob 480-...

It was a pleasure to have known you Vic. You are truly an inspiration to both young and old. I'm sure your adventures at the lake will be fodder for many a campfire story. You will be missed by all, but never forgotten.
Keep on sailin :D

drain

That sucks dude. A drain in the basement would prevent the basement from flooding, unless of course the drain backed up and caused the flood :? You've got to read the small print in that stack of papers they give you. That's where they get ya.
Good luck amigo.

global warming

Just watched a great movie last night called "The Inconvenient Truth". It was about Al Gore's fight to increase political awareness of global warming. It was loaded with a ton of scary stats about the global situation. If you don't think global warming is an important issue, watch this fil...

bag

I think there's a guy in Vancouver who does custom board bags for about $200. Might be cheaper for kite gear. PM me if you want his name and I'll try to dig it up.
Cheers :D

Here's a useful link for recycling www.pacificmobiledepots.com I take all of my plastic bags etc there about once a month. I just dropped off 4 garbage bags full of plastic bags, bread bags, plastic wrap etc and it cost me $4.00. It's amazing how much of our garbage is plastic. They also take styrof...

Left sandals at Nitinat

I left my sandals at Nitinat on the long weekend. They are sitting on a log on the beach just downwind from Vic's site. If anyone from Victoria is up there this weekend and spots them, would you mind grabbing them for me. My feet are starting to hurt
THANKS!!

Coastal Cycle and Watersports is still looking for instructors for the summer. There are jobs awaiting anyone interested in being an instructor. Also, these instructor clinics are hard to come by. If you're at all interested in getting your instructor certification, I highly recommend getting in on ...

lifejackets

I used to wear a lifejacket and a helmet but stopped wearing the jacket as it was a bit too restictive with my new harness. I figured if I had a helmet, the jacket was a bit redundant anyways. However, after reading over some of the other posts (jjjim), maybe I'll have to think about the jacket agai...

Count me in! I played last week for the first time in ten years and just about collapsed but I'm sure I'll get my legs back. The plus side is nobody will be pissed if we miss a game on a windy day! Let's make it happen :D :D
