2007 Gorge Freestyle Frenzy July 6-20 @ Hatch - $5000 Prizes

Post by robd »

Gorge Freestyle Frenzy

The first windy day July 6 to 20th. This is being organized by a few local sailors who have managed to pool $5000 worth of prizes for this event. There are 5 divisions: Women, Mens, Masters, ProKids Qualifier, and Super Frenzy. The Super Frenzy is the Men's pro division (flakas, grubbies, spocks, etc) while the Mens division is classic Gorge moves (no points for flakas, grubbies, spocks, etc - only wave riding, forwards, shuve-its, etc). The ProKids division is also a North American qualifier for the 'ProKids Worlds', which is in Bonaire.

Please consider coming to the Gorge and joining a division or at least to enjoy the show & sail - we need more Canadian sailors represented! Check out the website for more info: www.gorgefreestylefrenzy.com.

Points double with one handed jibes as long as you point at spectators as you jibe. :)

yeah, same w/ my knuckle drag chop hop, I got the water start in moderate wind wired too 8)

Seriously tho: Good on those guys to build up more events, it was getting a bit rare. Maybe this should inspire us to have a small local event. Any ideas? The Nat Fest is great, but what about a beer-league kiting/wsurf event at Kook? I will see about some prizes/suds. Anybody into it?

A gear demo/garage sale day, quickie GPS speed event, maybe a local "attempts at freestyle" with TrendDoc/PassMoreWind having to judge  , big air or spin thing for kiters (who knows what you guys do when you are up in the air, handle pass and all that jazz  :D ) and we all end up with a pint from a pony keg :P :P in the sun 8)
Wish less, sail more!!
