it's a fair bit of effort to plan/arrange for food, taking windgliders, firewood, music, RV's, the ever-enduring bathtub (talk about labor) and bbq's. For example my rig is off the road, do i insure it for an extra month to take it to IV to have hot outdoor showers, another fridge and tunes and find just 3 people show up? It would be great for new people to contribute too, not always the same crew.....old story.
These community posts are intended to see if people are into it.....the maybe's and no posts i know are waffelitis "what if CB goes off" etc. but this event involves at least some wind and u can't always have the chilli and eat it too.

Forecast looking good. I can bring Windbringer with extra stove and some tarps to give a windbreak on the kitestringcatcher - or whatever that shelter is called.
How about a food list start so we don't all bring chips and dips? I'll bring a quiche.
I wouldn't bother insuring the Windkushine for one day Kus! And if you bring group toys like Windgliders you should be excused from bringing firewood!

BE THERE EARLY: "Peninsula polar bears can take the plunge at a number of venues on New Year’s Day.
Peninsula Celebrations Society hosts a swim at noon at Island View Beach with hot coffee to keep swimmers warm.
The 34th annual Polar Bear Swim at Hamsterly Beach is on the north side of Elk Lake at 2 p.m. Hundreds of participants are expected for the swim in costume or swim suit, but be prepared if you’re going to take the chilly plunge."
