Russian Dood wrote:Thank you guys for your great support!

Finally it is a time for my weekly report. Actually not much to report. First week passed, I feel great! So far no side effects from chemo or radio. I am training (mildly) every day to keep my body ready for later weeks. I am a little intimidated by what people say about week three and up, but hey I don't have a choice. I have to keep my head down and do what it takes!

Thinking about you guys all the time! Sorry if I don't answer your direct messages right back - some other stuff is taking big part of my days as well.

On the other hand - yesterday I saw KUS on TV! Nice going dood!
Funny grass for anti nauseating - I am affraid my doc won't approve that :( plus I heard medical stuff is not that good at all.

That's all for this week. Stay tuned!
RD: Glad to hear that you feel great and have no side effects :D and week one is done. Well done!

 I was wondering what your medical team would think of adding yoga to your "training" (breathing, relaxation, flexibility, balance, and depending on how intense you might get strengthening too). Yoga was recommended to my Dad once he finished his first cycle of treatments.

 I underlined the one line above, because I have been trying to think of a way we can send some more support your way and I can see how much your ties to windsurfing and the windsurfing community mean to you. I learned through my Dad's illness that simple gestures can offer a lot of support. The idea is based on your pirate logo with the name of this thread above, "Russian Dood - we're thinking of you!" This graphic, in two versions, can be printed out 8.5" x 11" in black and white using PDF's. What people do with them is up to them and open to their creativity. :?

If you would rather 600 dpi jpg's send me a pm and I will send a set your way.

The way I plan to use my black on white "Thinking of you" patch (or TOY patch) is as a stencil to trace them onto my sails with a black sharpie so that you will be coming sailing with me (in spirit) when I go sailing. If I am able to get out, with a logo on, I will let you know in an effort to send some support your way (I hope this happen in 'week 3').

Originally I was thinking about sailing around with an eye patch, but I had second thoughts about that one. Again, if you are not comfortable with this, let me know and I will pull them down.

\edit 2011 Sept 29 = "Dood" for "Dude" + offer of jpg's

That is very nice guys!

I am impressed and ashamed a little

David, if you could make this sign kinda small I wouldn't mind.

As I said it is very touching!

Thank you guys!

As about my status - still the same. Going to the Center every day doing my thing. Mildly aerobically training. Getting ready for later weeks.

What JL said - ditto for me. What makes me feel ashamed is the day we were sailing at Pistol River and you offered to take pictures while I sailed. You said, "Try some loops and I'll get some pictures!" I was starting to feel a little beat up and my response was, "I am feeling kinda tired today, maybe tommorrow." Well if I had that moment back, my response would be different for sure. I look forward to the next time were are on the water together. I had a friend who once said, "When you are happy and you know it, throw a loop!" That is what I am looking forward to - sharing some loops! :D

The logo will be about the same size as a sail logo (about 5" tall and 9" long). Much smaller than the one on your sail! :D  And I plan to use it as a motivating tool for both forwards and backs. So this benefits me too. See - it is for both of us! :D
