Newspaper in your booties drys em quick

Post by Mattdog »

I discovered an old hiking boot trick works great with booties: Crumple up newspapers and insert through entire bootie. Will dry it out overnight. Set newspapers aside to dry and reuse again.

No more stinky wet booties :D

Wet booties

Post by Just another rookie »

Mattdog I love you! My booties smell like h--- and I have been trying to find a solution. I tried special soap purchased at a dive shop but it didn't help. I looked on the internet under "smelly booties" and found a ton of porn, interesting but not exactly what I was looking for. I am hoping your wet newspaper trick will solve this problem.

The key though is to use dry newspaper. It'll be damp once its wicked the moisture out of the boot.

What the heck?? I like the stink of my suit and booties....keeps the wife from using my van and volunteering mega kid rides....to (ha!) boot, they just get wet again anyway, why dry 'em? :D you guys obviously don't sail enough, time for some re-prioritization, eh?

Besides, I need all my personal time to sail and work and....oh yeah, attend to my family....so no little rolled up newspaper balls for me
Wish less, sail more!!

when my booties start to smell I just pour in some diluted bleach and then fill them up with water and let them soak awhile. Then I give 'em a quick rinse and they smell like new for a few uses.

I like to keep my booties right beside me while I am eating. They remind me of some sort of exotic cheese.
