Hi- uuh just catching up a little here, Adrian I don't think that the BWD site benefits from Windfest, it would appear to me it's the other way around? Or was there a Windfest contribution to the site?....that WOULD be great!
and yeah, sponsors are great and they pay and benefit from their ads on the website. The fact that they (and some BWD'ers like yourself which is awesome) are members of RVYC doesn't in my view equate to contributions by RVYC and their membership at large....

A large organization who has BWD latest and cam links on their lounge computer as a screensaver could be better represented by a sizable annual treasurer-driven donation on behalf of all their membership.....the fact that you and other members contribute individually is admirable, not taking away from that

If you haven't donated to the site as a regular user, please consider automatic basic annual donation, it doesn't need to be much if everyone does it

To be fair, most of the items I have been selling off /donating are things that I have accumulated or been given over the last several years from people who have given up windsurfing.

My daughter and I originally intended for her to continue with windsurfing and bring her new husband into the sport, thus the gear accumulation. However they have since taken up kiting and have been quite successful with it, so they are no longer interested in our side of the sport.

I feel I should be downsizing and I don't want to profit from these things so wanted a way to pay it forward. I want to thank the generosity of those who have made these sales/donations possible, ie. both those who have given me the items originally as well as the buyers/donators.

Thanks to all the contributors who support this site in their various ways

Ya I hear ya.. There was discussion on this at a sailing committee meeting but the club hasn't made a contribution in a while.. If I attend a meeting before Dec I'll bring it up again.. One thing to note is that the club is just that.. A membership fee to be a part of it so putting those fees toward a donation outside of the club is a vote worthy thing to involve all the members..
