kite freighters

Thought you kiters might find this interesting. I saw a segment on a TV program about kiting. THey were talking about using giant kites and the wind as an alternative fuel source for ocean going freighters. The kite would be controlled by means of an onboard remote. I can't remember the exact size of the kite but it was several hundred square metres.
They were also talking about using giant kites in space for something but I can't remember the details. CAn't wait to see those freighters coming down the JDF
