WoW And I thought 55mph was about the fastest.. But I think that record requires a 1 mile or 1km sustained run.

Its nice to think Hwy 19 drivers might slow down to watch these guys going by at just 20kph under the North Island Highway speed limit. LoL

I've yet to go to the trench or even that wind farm sailing site in S. California which I recall nicknamed "The ponds" . I think Tarifa Spain is about the windiest place I've ever sailed. The half sunk freighters all in view. Also had the shit scared outa me solo Windsurfing the Duffy Lake (Hwy 99) in late October once. The water so flat you couldn't really see the monster gusts coming at you.

Going fast can sure be fun. I'll have to upgrade my protective toque to something like a Rugby Head protector for that sorta fun if retirement lets me go there.
