Kite Beach on Lake Cowichan

Post by Kiterkliff »

Looking for an alternative to Nitinat or someting different?
I found a water access beach the other day and have been salivating for the wind to come up for a go. Today was the day.
Perfect beach with nice soft (real) sand. There is an area that sits in the lee of the wind where the family hung out and built sandcastles. The beach works out to a tiny point sticking out into the water right into the wind. Easy lauch with lots of room for the lines.
Perfect day that worked up to being lit on my 13M. Warm fresh water and not a single person on the lake except the odd fishing boat rolling by.
I GPS'ed the beach to see if there is a road access which I will look for later. There is even a perfect flat premade tent pad waiting to go.

How to get there: Get on to Lake Cowichan and if you cant read a topo map, pull out your GPS and head for UTM: 0408134E, 5414434N on the Lake Cowichan Map.

If its sunny or partially sunny it will be blowing.

See you there, but dont crowd me....
