Generally a very gusty place, winds come from Nicaragua, over land.Side on shore launch's,on the west shore side.Lake Arenel,is a spot where a lot of sailer's go. :? Killer chop, and mondo gusty conditions as well.Pretty cool spot, with the volcano erupting in the back ground.lots of creatures in Costa Rica,157 different varieties of snakes.watch grassy fields{fair de lance]deadliest snake of the all,it has an poisonous bite which is untreatable, bugs abound. They have centers there to study the huge numbers of different species. Great weather, nice climate.Thieves abound, don't leave any valuables in rental cars, they have keys.keep valuables close on your person. friggen shitty, watch yourself.  Great hot springs, rivers of hot water to lay in,fireflies as bright as anything.Check your footwear every morning, scorpions are nasty.Hope you have a great trip,Oh yeh! really, really windy, small kites a must.Cheers.
