Alright!
That makes my day!
I will definatly appreciate it, while it's there.
I felt a little lost without it.
Thanks BWD, Dave and Feona B.

Great news! Thanks Dave! You're right, we are REALLY spoiled having the cams. Even the latest reports is an amazing resource.

The Cook Street webcam will most likely be turned OFF in the next few days. It is losing it's home and I haven't found any other suitable places for it yet. If someone would like to volunteer to go door to door to scout out a new location that would be great. Ideally it would be a two storey house on Dallas Road that is west of Wellington Ave. I pay their internet. Email me for info:

I think your right, Kus. We must be able to learn something about non-traditional dispute resolution from all the popular TV we watch. What would Tony Soprano do?

Hope this gets resolved. Has any door to door been done? I'd do some, don't want to go to someone who's already said "No" (they might watch the Sopranos too).

I can organize a 'sign-up' sheet to cover off all the potential addresses if thats useful. I think I can work out a good way to do this using a web thread and PMs to keep it updated.

So the Dallas Road webcam has been turned off now...sad. They haven't advertised the apartment yet but they needed the webcam removed before they show the place and do final painting etc. So there is still a chance that new tenants won't mind having the webcam there. We'll know in the next 2 weeks...

While I was removing the webcam I did a walk along Dallas to scope out some other possible places. Here is a list starting at Cook and walking East. I've only included the 2 story houses for now:

==Cook Street
#1 Cook Street: The Dashwood Manor B&B - I have already approached them and they are happy to host the webcam. The difficulty is that it would have to go on the roof and it's a big house. There would be a bit of work getting the webcam on the roof, keeping it clean from salt spray, and connecting to their internet on the bottom floor. It's possible, but not easy.

==Marlborough Street
#1124 Dallas Road: green house, 2 stories, good view, looks like a rental. Haven't approached them yet.

#1128 Dallas Road: Manor by the Sea, high house, good view. Haven't approached them yet.

==Cambridge Street
#1140 Dallas Road: high house, good view. Haven't approached them yet.

#1144 Dallas Road: current webcam location. Will find out within 2 weeks if new tenants want the webcam there.

#1150 Dallas Road: high house, good view, but apparently will be for sale soon. Haven't approached them yet.

==Linden Street
#???? Dallas Road: white stucco house, high, good view. Not sure if this is the one AC is talking about, but hopefully he can find out...

So there are some options.

Good news

Post by bwd »

After sailing yesterday I stopped by the apartment on 1144 Dallas to see if it had been rented yet. It has and they just moved in. It turns out the guy Matt knows about the website and has done some kiting. He's happy to have the webcam there :D So hopefully the cam will be online soon, probably next week (Sept 4 or 5).

Matt is interested in kiting lessons so maybe AC can help out there...
