Ladies....

I am looking for a wetsuit & am wondering where to get one?
I have checked around & haven't had much luck.
If anyone could share where they got theirs, brand/best fit/price that would be very helpful!

(I live on the island & have checked in Van too)

Thanks!

Hi,

Have you tried Switch? They are located on the Colwood strip just pass the Casino(retirement crack). Good selection, and great prices right now as they are clearing out inventory for a relocation move to Langford.

I just bought a new one, Excel 5-4-3 $489. Fits like a glove. Super flexible, comfortable and warm. Actually, I was surprised that it fit so well, because I am a bit on the short side.

Expect to pay between $400-500 for a good suit. You'll be warm and happy that you did.

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, you can email me at:

Cheers,

Thanks Tammie!

No, I hadn't actually heard of Switch, but will check it out. Are the Excel suits on the smaller side? I am actually 5'7 so need some length....
Also, what do you wear up at nitnat? Do you use your warm suit or do you have another?

Cheers!

No worries on the fit. The suits come in a variety of womens sizes from 4 and up and because the suits are so flexible, they fit an even wider range of heights and sizes.

With regard to Nitnat, I am a heat lover, so I will wear the suit year round. If I get too hot, I'll just dip.

Hope to see you on the water! There are an awesome bunch of girls that kite now and the more the merrier..

Not sure what size you are but I have an extra small Oneil 4.3 steamer in nearly mint condition. Will fit a petite woman. $100. let me know if you're interested:

Bosun's Locker (vic) have or can get you, nice womens 4/3 one piece steamers from Pro-Limit. If you're looking for same 5/3, Windance (gorge) has them (none in Canada) new & used and will ship too you. Just bought one for my wife.

Hey Robin,

Thanks for the tip. Do you have some contact info for Windance? I want to be as toasty as possible! I know that Pro Limit doesn't have the 5/3 steamer available in Canada. Does your wife use a 5/3? With the smoothskin?

Thanks! :)

Yep, she has the 5/3 smooth, 1 piece, short zip, with gusset. Windance has new last year (220$us) and new this year(250$us) take your pick! Doesn't look like they have anymore used left but ask them, they were (180$, my sister picked one up). check them out at

of course you'll need to ensure the sizing, talk to them, they've got an 800 number

ps. was just in Bosun's and they also have Bare suits, which are quite nice too (smoothskin, 1 piece)
