Kite man at IV- get a brain.

Post by eddie x »

Heya, yesterday at IV @ 2:30ish pm my paddling buddy and I were out for a few waves. We were crossing the beach front heading north from the main lot prolly 20 meters offshore when some fool decided to bear down on us and buzz past leaving less than 2 meters between at speed with a nice soaker wave. Not cool, you're on a short reach at speed with way less than full control.

It's not your beach or ocean and i was paddling there long before kitting was invented. It would be a drag if people started complaining about the unsafe kite boarders, writing to the crd, saanich ect.

next time we'll just wait for you in the parking lot.
Relax, there is no bomb.

He might have been completely green, but was kiting just well enough to appear like he knew what he was doing, and he luckily missed hitting you ?!

I'm pinning this one entirely on JL. That guy is likely the rudest, least hospitable guy on the beach.

That's cool, but just remember this the next windy day at JR! Sharing the water works both ways. Having someone bear down on you is not cool, but the not so veiled threat at the end of your post is a bit much for getting some spray in the face.
