time to put my purse down and try a forward loop, advice?
Punch and Scrunch
There are two words that I think about when going for loops:
Punch and Scrunch
Punch = push out the boom/sail with your front arm
Scrunch = sheet-in back hand, tuck back leg -- you're scrunching every limb on the trailing side of the body.
I'm sure Pritchard will grab hold of this idea and be flogging it at the next loop clinic
So, when you're puckering up with fear, and grabbing for the purse, just jump on board the Punch and Scrunch mantra and you'll be hucking
Punch and Scrunch ...
Punch and Scrunch ...
Punch and Scrunch ...
Punch and Scrunch ...
Punch and Scrunch ...
Punch and Scrunch ...
that's it.
Hopefully you don't punch something thru the sail window

OK, I've got three years left to tie the guy in the video. I can't even get the nerve up to learn duck gybes. Was going to put Kus' tips to use, but there was always something wrong; too big a sail, chop too big so the mast might catch, just paid for the new front tooth and can't afford another, .......
Ok, this weekend, now to decide Nitinat or WWW for it. Oh, yeah that reminds me, if there is a stick in the water it puts me off trying anything that involves letting go of the boom.....
Thanks Nanmoo for making some freestyle tricks seem within reach

I still remember my ~40 attempts at Gordons of mast eating, doing handstands "showing off" on the boom, crunching sails and punching booms into chest and forehead fondly...(alzheimer track removed ) i will keep trying to stand up one of my backies, thanks

sorry mr Namoo, not there for the long weekend, going up this comming wed, thurs, friday. good luck this weekend, I would bet a $100 but I am an unemployed bum for the time being, cash is too valuble right now. It may inspire me to try one though. You said "first one to sail away..." I would be happy with 3/4 rotation and landing on my back. atleast the duck jibes on the close side of the lake are lookin good. if I still chicken out, perhaps the body drags will be perfected, at least I'm getting wet again.
