Correct me if I am wrong, but I think he means Marine-Tex. If so, its a good easy to work with epoxy that fixes anything, its what I used to fix a big long valley indentation on the bottom of my board. I did it ugly, but hey its smooth enough!

-post a photo Bobson!

After taking your old Futura to a shop to have them repair it, I did another board a lot worse and did the repair myself. As Kus lectured me a while back, just get the thing sealed back up and get back out there. While I didn't take his advice entirely, the fiberglassing was pretty easy and my finished product is as good as the repair shop.

There is ample experience with board repair on this site and the other resources on the web are great (board lady etc.) Downwind Dave even has a McGyver vacuum pump that can be used for water removal or for laminating layers of PVC foam for those deeper repairs. Works like a charm.

Marinetex is okay for little stuff but it can add weight if the wound is nasty. With some proper filler, epoxy and glass it is pretty easy to make a light and durable repair.

I don't think Bobson is going to be too concerned about a little extra weight on his board.

Actuallly, I was kinda bored cruising up and down the lake, pretty much anywhere I wanted so I was pointing up to look at the beautiful sky. Just enjoying my surroundings Jimmy!
