By Tues. it will be raging ... Check the 'images' for fog @ the coast !!! NOAA: "A
MARINE PUSH THAT WOULD AFFECT THE STRAIT OF JUAN DE FUCA WITH SMALL
CRAFT ADVISORY WESTERLIES SHOULD HOLD OFF TIL TUE EVENING...ALTHOUGH
IF THE COASTAL MARINE AIR GETS DEEPER TODAY THAT FORECAST WILL HAVE
TO BE SPED UP. "

Windguru will not be of much help for a spot like Nitinat. There are too many "localised" variables that won't be accounted for on their program. Like JL wrote, use the US forecast and look for things like "fogbanks developing", "marine push", "small craft warning for westerlies", and onshore flow. Combine these with sun and a good temp. differential between Tofino and Port Alberni and you'll have an excellent chance of strong wind. Anytime you see offshore flow (E or NE winds) the thermal will be diminished or even reversed.
