The pressure gradient is pretty flat tomorrow

So it will probably be light, even starting with an outflow in the early afternoon.
Wed and Thurs look good but not epic. There is some divergence in weather reports about a front on Thursday but so far EC's temperature difference for PA and Tofino looks good for both Wed and Thur.
Have fun all.

Re: how's Nitinaht this week?
Read Randy's Nitnaht forecast on BWD, check the temps/weather in PA and the coast...as long as there is a temp gradient and nothing else odd happening NN will be windy.joelhampshire wrote:hey all - thanks for the info last week! i had a great 2 days at Nitinah! so great in fact i wanna come back this week on weds and thurs.

I've been skunked one or two days this year out of 25 or so at NN...pretty good odds.

Oddly enough though... they say the same is true for PA, yet on Sunday, when my car said 18.5 C at the HQ, and EC said 15-16 in Tofino, I was completely cranking on a 4.7 (25+). I haven't read through the logs, but I assume Nitinat was the same despite a very small temp gradient.
Don't forget to bring a towel!

wind predictions for island inlets
Good comment, Nanmoo. You're right, there's much more to it than the the temp gradient from PA and the coast. We are discovering that the summer thermals rock in the Alberni inlet, but also there's strong winds when the thermals are not going off, which is a very exciting/promising prospect for the upcoming fall season. Wind, wind and more wind!
Life is all about balance, and a dose of healthy wind addiction
