Stoked that the Young Professionals of Alberni Valley have partnered with the Canal Beach Watersports Society to host a beer garden and Dope Soda SKA band for the Third Annual Alberni Canal Downwind Challenge - Stand Up Paddleboard event in less than three weeks!

The event planning just keeps getting sweeter and sweeter!

Not one, but two bands coming to Canal Beach for the ACDC - SUP event after party on Sat. June4th.

Come, enjoy the beer garden after SUP ing, kiting and/or windsurfing on the inlet and be entertained by some wicked talented bands!

The New Groovement and Dope Soda will be playing. Hosted by the Young Professionals of Alberni Valley .

Thanks, Kus! It was a hot day in PA. So cool to have a beer/cider/wine garden sponsored by Sproat Lake Landing (Drinkwaters Restaurant) and the Young Professionals of Alberni Valley. Also, to watch the local firespinners, kitesurferDale, and winddiva Alicia, plus fire breather, Jesse, with the Dope Soda band playing in the background was a pretty wild experience for all of the party-goers into the night.

What a successful event with the paddlers racing against Mother Nature in one of the most epic SUP challenges. An incredible way to kick off summertime in PA!

For any of those friends in the wind community who haven't seen Canal Beach, since that first year of Wild West Watersports in 2010, you wouldn't recognize the amazing transformations on the waterfront. There have been so many volunteers who have helped over the years to improve that space. It was truly 'on stage' with the Third Annual ACDC-SUP event with the bands playing in front of Alicia's mural. Incredible energy.

There's an alternate race course, if the wind is outflow. The competitors will have the wind at their backs!

The first 'Kitingforkids' event "Great Foil Challenge" in Port Alberni is also happening during the ACDC event.

After the water events, there will be bands and beer gardens, with Twin City Brewing supplying the brew at Canal Beach park.
