Has anyone done any boarding on the West Coast? I'm planning a trip to Tofino this summer and would like as much information as possible. Thanks!

Jan,

I've sailed a few times at Long Beach, it can be apic. I have only sailed at South Chesterman's and Comber's Beach. Comber's is a bit more exposed and will probably have bigger waves. S. Chesterman's can get a bit of a Venturi effect from the island out front, so if the wind is light everywhere, it might be a bit windier there. I know Ozzy talks about an epic day he and Paul had at Main Beach and WDOC , Starboard Steve and DWD have all scored at North Chesterman's. Bottom line, You will never be disappointed you made the trip to the coast. Just bring alternate toys in case it isn't blowing. Summer is generally not too windy, but sometimes a front will come through, or if the fog is on your side, a bit of a thermal might kick up in the afternoon. Best time is probably chasing fronts in the Spring or Fall.
