Nice to meet Mike and to sail with Bill again. Thanks Bill for the malted beverage and gear storage tonight, I'll bring the IB tomorrow. Nice - I really needed that! Sorta like a nice Sunday sail catching the odd breaking swell over the reef. Making the best of the lack of wind.

Also got worked several times over by the viscous shore break at Big Beach - Reminds me of a winter SE day at IV, except when you get pounded into the ground its nice soft sand; not hard, barnacle covered rocks. Oh and no wetsuit!

Went for a rip down to ross bay to play in the flat stuff with ryan. Of course the wind dropped off as soon as I got there :? . Struggled but finally got back to the launch after about an hour. :P Tried a couple of loop backrolls but the wind died off pretty quick.

Wind up and down - hovering off the point again.

Went up wind a few times to Ogden point when the wind felt adequate. As soon as I hit the lighthouse the wind died slightly and I headed back. Down winders dont seem to be as much fun as everyone makes them sound. Cant get going fast enough while wanting to go downwind faster than up.

Wind stronger on the outside. Didnt know the whale boats would come so close until one appeared from behind on my leeward side... :!:

Refused to go in because of hay fever. ... (more)

First session in port this year, nice change of scenery. The call from Indian Dog Millionaire caught me by surprise, saying it was blowing 25-30 at noon. Zero to overpowered at times, plenty of wind though.Even some stand up waves at times. Can not call this place SanPariel West but sure nice to get a Tuesday afternoon in the sun.Feels like the beginning of summer now. Locals say May and June are the best months here.

Thanks to id and ur for the calls. I guess the reason the wind speed was 15 one moment and 22 the next was because the wind speed was actually 22 one moment and 5 the next. Had lots of fun though. Semi fresh water was nice. First time in Port this year. :) FYI I think it is actually about 5 knots more on the water than the reading. So hoping for some company this year. Kitesurferdale needs to practice his pier launching technique.

First day out in non-wavesailing conditions this year. I think maybe waves are more fun than Chop Street. Powered up most of the time on my floaty board. As was already mentioned went over the falls on an inside wave....who thought that could happen.

All-in-all pretty much ruled it as usual. Hopefully the crew can keep up!

Blast with the 4.7 but that lasted only 1/2hr, died off, even 5.3 was kinda marginal. Still planing around & catching a few waves, bigger nicer ones mostly got away due to lack of powa :x some smoothies I did catch, visited Kook stairs but the wind sucked even harder up there. Nice to see What's On back slashin' :P

Fun sail in the sun overall, even managed two high speed certain-crash-n-burn backloops for the front row  woohoo, love those skipping along the wavetops

So there is almost no wind here and not supposed to be any until the weekend.

To make the best of whatever there is, grabbed a SUP and a 5.5m, messed around with the paddle for awhile, caught some waves, then sailed for a few more hours. No Ferrari of a ride, but it requires WAY less effort to catch waves than paddling! Still fun, but hoping for some wind.

Great day up at the lake! 8) A little underpowered for the first half hour, but then it blew till dark. Ripped on the 11m for a bit then came in and helped Ashley body drag. She is a quick learner and did very well. A couple tries with the board then the wind picked up and was too much for her. I went out on the 8m for a bit, then it died off ( of course  ). Good kiting, good friends, good vibes!

Not getting quite the "air" I am used to. Coudn't be because of all those cruiseship desserts, could it?
