Got on the water around 11 am , sailed around just heading out the the big orange and white bouys and back to shore. The wind was pretty solid, however close to shore there was big holes. I manged to find out that the downwash from a Seakings blades make it hard to keep a sail in the air!! other than that sunny ans warm :)

Fantastic 3 hours of great sailing then last hour of trying to make it back to beach without walk of shame  . The current was really flowing!! The last hour wasn't as much fun mostly schloggin' trying to make it back above the boat ramp....I gotta learn to quit while it's still good. Always stay just a bit long. Next time...ya righ ... First after-work session of the year! Got to IV at 5, sailed until 6:45, unrigged in dusk -> dark with Bobson. Wind was dropping, but still planed every run but a couple of short slogs. Huge ebb current made staying upwind very hard. About 4 jibes planed almost all the way round, lots of stay-dry, one almost a slam-jibe, a few dry slog tacks. Chilly only about 7 but great views of Baker.

OK session once I figured out the current. It felt like an anchor attached to my board. Went out from 10:30-12:30. Tried my bigger board at the end just to try it out and I rocketed up wind with ease. Should've used it the whole time. It was really patchy wind today coming straight out of CAddy BAy. The floatier board carried me through the lulls.

Pretty much just back and forth but fun to be on the water on such a nice day. Thanks to PAt and Rick for the coffee and cookies :D

Ahh...barefeet! Foot feeling better, bailed out on one backloop and escaped this time :P . First day of spring!

Nice fun session. A little gusty, but great fun. Good ramps, nice jums, very nice session. I a middle of the session I rigged up 5.5, made just ONE run on it on a way back I couldn't sheet in, that was a pretty good indication to switch back to 4.5. And yeah, the fin is GONZO. I'll take it to a grainer tomorrow, to see what I can do out of it, but something tells me it's not going to be a fin. :?

Pretty good day for Esquimalt. Gusty as usual on the inside but pretty solid on the outside. Nice ramps today. Planed out of some nice floaty jumps and nailed more jibes than usual. Not really a valid session, but had to log use of the 4.0. Launched in a lull and had to drag out past the beach break, tried a few waterstarts in the gusts and got catapaulted each time. Gotta work on high wind starts without the distraction of drifting towards breaking reefs just downwind. Lots of sailors, one kiter out, went to help another but his kite blew down the beach into the cliff.

Got up to the lake at about 12:45, and on the water about 2:45. Wind was pretty strong (@14) for the first 45 minutes, then slowly dropped. Came up a bit later, a dude was just going out at 5:30 in the 9-10 knots that was still around. Great to be on the water with Sandra and Grant and Tam and Ger. Was using the 16m. It is a great kite.

Got to the lake at noon, no wind so we ate lunch and waited. Bobson was the first person on the lake at about 130, and he was schlogging on the big stuff. He looked lonely so I joined him at 2:00 and schlogged for a little less then an hour before the wind came up. The wind filled in nicely for about 45min and then died of quite quickly. Beauty day to be out there and I have a sunburned face to prove it. Completed my first jibe so the trip was well worth it.
