:? Looked fantastic at 5:00PM when I arrived. Rigged up with BigD and Keen(er) and went out .... super flat and 12-18kts. Couldn't have been better, except lots of flood tide. Chased sailboat down to Trial, then wind died. Ugghh!! slogged trying to get back upwind....NOT GONNA HAPPEN. TROUBLE!!! I kept trying but tide was too strong and wind was too weak. Okay, I'm probably 5kms off end of Trial Is. Decided to head downwind to Willows and call for a pickup. Just then wind picked up to 15-17kts and I started ripping :D , then rescue 911 showed up  and asked if I was okay..?? BigD and Keen(er) had called 911. I told them I was okay and was heading to Willows. They stayed and watched for 15mins. I was lit up hitting 46.3km/h  and then they took off. They called back and arranged BigD/Keen(er) to pick me up from Willows. I really appreciate friends for watching out for me and the rescue 911 guys for coming out to make sure I was okay and for arranging my pickup from Willows  . All this goes to show that the tide is strong off the waterfront and even if you're on BIG GEAR doesn't ensure you get back to where you started from. Obviously I was getting a bit too cocky on my BIG GEAR. Good lesson learned. Ended session with a beer and burger at Ross Bay Pub 8) ended session having sailed/schlogged 42kms in 2.5 hours.
