CRAP - GPS session didn't download and now it's gone. CRAP!! apparently the following never happened. UGH!! Saturday wake up to wind!! Ate my Tweezer-cakes and packed the man-van and headed for flatter water (I thought). Had coffee with my daughter in Sidney and saw some good wind 15-20kts and fairly flat water compared to RB. After coffee went to find a good place to launch, it was pouring and gusting 25kts. Yuck! So pulled into the boat launch beside The Anacortes ferry terminal. No one around so didn't pay the $12 for parking. Super easy launch site. The ferry dock and breakwater breaks the waves on the Easterly wind. Headed out and upwind to the Sidney wharf where the wind seem to die so headed way down to the end of James island. This will be a fantastic spot when the wind is NE/SE and less than 20kts. Right off the NW end of James it was fairly flat water but all the rest was super wavey. Steep, confused chop. 1-3 footers. I'm guessing the crazyness was tide maybe. It's a bit of a drive butt can't wait for next session there when it's not that windy/rainy/cold. Yes, I'm asking a lot! I called it a day pretty early as hands were cold and the big waves were tougher to manage.
BOBSON OUT!
