Got off work early and headed down to find an RBFC 'on the water' meeting going on with 14 Wangs on the water as I drove in. Goat Hill was busy but somehow there was a parking spot 4 spots up from 'Pole Position'. Thanks Atomic!! Ok, now for the good stuff' arrived to 15-20kts and mostly flat water. WooHoo!! Chatted with GMAC for 30 seconds and then hurriedly rigged up a fairly flat 5.2m Flyer and put on the 800cm2 front Foil for some speed runs. Got out on the water with the small board about 7 mins later. Put in a solid 20 mins but couldn't really get any good speed runs in due to not enough wind and some tidal chop. Came back in when wind lightened to 12-15kts and put on the 1100cm2 front foil for some added lift. It was perfect!! After foiling by everyone I knew screaming out their names if I recognized them (sorry BW) didn't recognize you with the blue helmet!?! After getting told I foiled past some whales that I didn't even see and doing my best to hit 50kms I called it a day and left as the wind increased to 20+ which made the fat 5.2m a bit of a handful. I would of and should have kept going but after 66kms yesterday, I was a bit tired so came home for some Rye + Gingy and Chicken Souvlaki for dinner. YUMM!! Good to see all the smiling faces out there! WooHoo, rest day tomorrow before more wind on Wed.
