Like usual, I got there after CB was finishing up a session. I landed another fellow and then self-launched and set off. The wind was quite light as I started but with the wind so southerly it was easy getting going on the western side. At one point, after a couple of reaches, I was thinking of coming in as it seemed I was struggling to hold ground but just as I came near the boat ramp the wind came up and I decided to try another reach. That worked out for me as the wind filled in for the rest of the session and I had plenty of power for a fantastic cruise on the Tiki. I also figured out that, given the unusual wind direction, I was not pointing as much as I could have done. With that sorted, I was able to make upwind easily. With the chop being small, the Tiki was such a smooth and enjoyable ride. With the southerly wind it was really fun to been able to cruise the whole shoreline between Clover and Finlayson. I did not make any tack attempts but the gybes are easy on the big dance floor that is my Tiki and I had a blast. A practically perfect Tiki session!
